X-Ray Facilities on-site X-ray imaging can be a valuable tool in diagnosing conditions and developing case-specific treatment plans. When indicated, x-ray studies will be performed, developed, and interpreted on-site. During a comprehensive report of findings, Dr. Grossman will explain the results of your diagnostic imaging, as well as orthopedic, neurological, and physical exams. Each patient will be provided a written explanation of x-ray findings and treatment recommendations. |

Flexion-Distraction Technique
Flexion-distraction technique is the most widely used approach to treating symptomatic lumbar disc injuries and associated pain in the lower extremity/buttocks. Flexion-distraction technique involves the use of a specialized table that gently provides axial distraction, stretching the spine and surrounding musculature. The specialized table allows the chiropractor to isolate the area of disc involvement while slightly providing flexion, lateral bending and circumduction to the spine in a pumping rhythm. The combination of these movements alleviates pressure on the spinal nerves, relaxes the muscles of the low back, and decreases inflammation. There is typically no pain involved in the treatment. |
|
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called an “adjustment”. A chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which the doctor applies a controlled force into a joint that is restricted, or not moving properly. The purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to restore mobility to the restricted joint, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. |

PHYSIOTHERAPY Ultrasound "Therapeutic Ultrasound" is one of the most common modalities used by physicians. Ultrasound utilizes sound waves to treat injured muscles, joints, and soft tissues by creating a deep micro-massage and heating effect.
Benefits of Ultrasound: · increase circulation · relax muscle spasms · repair damaged tissue · speed the healing process. · repairs both hard and soft tissues problems.

Electric Muscle Stimulation This type of therapy uses low levels of electrical pulses that are transmitted to specific areas of the body through electrodes placed on the skin. This therapy is often used to treat acute or chronic pain, as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the spine and extremities.
Benefits of Electric Muscle Stimulation: · pain relief · reduce inflammation · relax muscle spasm · increase circulation · release endorphins (natural pain relievers) |

Rehabilitation/Neuromuscular Re-Education As part of each individual treatment plan, Dr. Grossman will incorporate an exercise protocol consisting of stretching and strengthening exercises. Dr. Grossman will instruct patients on proper technique and provide illustrated examples from Phases Rehab for patients to take home. The goal during this phase of treatment is to increase strength, flexibility, prevent re-injury, and promote overall wellness. |
